Lease signed (photos)
On Friday 18th April 2008 at the Pavilion, representatives of the club
and Bradley Stoke Town Council signed an agreement that will guarantee
cricket being played at Baileys Court for the next 40+ years. The press
announcement continues " This new agreement, signed in the Orchard Room
at Baileys Court on Friday 18th April 2008, guarantees security of
tenure for the cricket club. It also allows them greater financial
stability with rent reviews now being carried out on a four yearly
basis, instead of annually, as was the case with the now defunct
agreement that existed between the Town Counsel and the Baileys Court
Sports and Social Club, of which BSCC had been a
part....................
.................Following the recent refurbishment and extension of
Baileys Court, the Town Council is happy to ensure that the Bradley
Stoke Cricket Club makes maximum use of these excellent facilities as
well as the well maintained pitch. It is hoped that over the coming
years, this thriving club will become a greater focal point of the local
community as well as being an excellent sporting club."

Yorkshire Tea Packs
300 hundred extra Cricket Clubs, including our, are benefiting
from
Yorkshire Tea's Pavilion Packs this season, taking their support for the
traditional cricket tea outside their homelands and spreading their
message across the country.
The Pavilion Packs are in the final stages of assembly and Yorkshire Tea
will start despatching them from later this week, ensuring our Club's
pack will be with us by the end of the month.

Player's Meeting
Jon Tickner has resigned as 2nd team captain, due to uncertain work
commitments with his new job. He felt that it would be better for
the club, to stand down before the start of the season rather than miss
too many games.
Jason Grail (vice captain) does not wish to take on the job.
We will hold a players meeting, on Saturday 19th April at 1.15 pm to
elect a new captain.
Nominations/volunteers can be proposed by
email or put forward at the
meeting for election.
Memberships Due
Mike Mundy writes "Hi all, we are approaching the new season and it's
that time again to start collecting from your piggy banks. By the time
the season starts two quarters of our rent will have been required, so
funds now need bolstering.
Please let me have your membership form, self declaration form and fees
as soon as possible. As a reminder the fees are: Under 18 (as at 31st
August 2007) £10, Over 18 (playing) £50, and social £5.
There is also a voluntary £10 development fee which is used towards
Club/Player needs as agreed by the Committee.
My address is 2 The Bluebells, Bradley Stoke, BS32 8BE. Cheques should
be made payable to Bradley Stoke Cricket Club.
If anyone has difficulty paying the whole amount in one go, please
contact me (0117 9697293) and we can arrange payments over a few months.
Many thanks Mike. "
Change to Net Times
Just a reminder that the nets for the next four (and
last) weeks will be between 4pm and 5pm for Adults, and between 5pm and
6pm for Youth players. Barry would welcome some help for the latter so
if any of you can stay on to assist, he would be very pleased.
3rd XI Pitch
We will be using
Bradley
Stoke Community School's artificial wicket. The grass
wicket has been condemned and will not be ready to play on for the 2008
season. Cost is £50 to play on grass and reduction has been requested
for using the artificial pitch due to less preparation being needed.
